The therapist will take a previously identified reinforcer (I-pad or edible) and place it on
the table in front of the student. After picking up the item, the therapist will then place it towards
his face. He will continue to hold the item by his face until the learner makes direct eye contact
for at least one second. Once direct eye contact is established the therapist will then slowly state
a short phrase and the name of the edible or preferred reinforcer. Example: “May I have I-pad,”
